The Rainy Season

Like in many cities weather is always a favorite topic for newscasters, especially on a slow news day. Even with Angelina and Brad having twins today the big news around the Pheonix area is THE MONSOON! It has arrived.

In most states it would simply be considered rain but here because the rain is so rare and comes all at one time it is called the Monsoon. It's basically our rainy season. What's cool about rain in Arizona is that you can see it in the distance. It might be pouring one mile away and dry as a bone where you are at. We love rain here because it is so rare. It cleans the air and gets a new crop of tumbleweeds growing. I've noticed the birds seem to really like it too.

Just like when it snows int he mid-west, drivers cannot handle the change in road conditions and everyone freaks out because the roads are wet.

In the rural areas flooding can be an issue especially if it rains during rush hour.
Have a safe week and enjoy the rain!
